A Decision-Making Framework for Student Accountability & Life Readiness
Students are not failing because they lack intelligence, talent, or access to information. They are failing because they haven’t been given a structured decision-making system, one that teaches accountability, self-direction, and how daily choices shape long-term outcomes. The world has changed. Our systems for preparing young people have not. Get PAID™ (Pay Attention – Identify Daily) exists to fill that gap.

To present the Get PAID™ mindset and language, guiding young people to ask the right questions, make mindful choices, and act with intention.

To turn ideas into actions by guiding students through structured exercises that build character, discipline, and career clarity.

To reduce digital distractions, slow down rapid thinking to build clarity and intentionality through handwritten reflection.

To train teachers, parents, and mentors to deliver the Get PAID™ System with consistency, confidence, and creativity.

Founder of Get PAID™ | Youth Development Strategist
Louwendy Jenkins is the creator of Get PAID™ (Pay Attention – Identify Daily), an identity-based life-skills system designed to help young people stop drifting and start designing their lives. With over 30 years of experience working directly with youth, parents, and educators, Louwendy has built frameworks that teach self-governance, accountability, and intentional decision-making.
Beginning in 1989, Louwendy founded Nothing To Do (NTD), a nonprofit after-school organization that evolved into a multi-program serving elementary through high school students. NTD became known for combining structure, creativity, performance, and leadership, empowering students to take ownership of their choices and express their identities with confidence.
Through decades of work across Generation X, Y, and Z, Louwendy refined a practical methodology that replaces motivation with direction. Get PAID equips educators and parents with a shared language and teachable system focused on time, energy, identity, and daily action skills rarely taught, yet essential for life readiness.
Louwendy positions life as a design process, not a default path, teaching young people to hold the brush, move with intention, and build futures they can stand behind.
Get PAIDTM (Pay Attention – Identify Daily) is a structured decision-training system designed to help young people (ages 15–25) stop drifting and start designing their lives. It teaches identity awareness, critical thinking, discipline, and daily accountability not motivation or inspiration, but direction.
The system is designed for:
• Teachers (high school & college)
• Parents
• Mentors, coaches, and youth leaders
• Organizations working with young adults
Students who benefit most are those navigating identity, direction, career paths, and personal responsibility.
Get PAIDTM is not motivational speaking or character talks.
It is a decision-training framework that:
• Introduces a shared language adults and youth can use together
• Trains students to notice inputs, evaluate choices, and decide daily
• Builds self-governing humans, not dependent learners
“Teaching the Teachers” means educators, parents, and mentors are trained first, so they can confidently teach the system to students.
Instead of being passive attendees, participants:
• Experience the system themselves
• Teach each other during the training
• Leave prepared to duplicate the framework in their own environments
The Get PAID Painters’ Lab is an immersive weekend boot-camp experience where participants:
• Learn the full Get PAIDTM System
• Break into collaborative groups of five
• Teach, reflect, and co-create together
• Leave with clarity, confidence, and tools to implement immediately
It is limited to 35 participants to maintain depth, dialogue, and hands-on learning.
The system uses art and creation as a metaphor for life:
• Students are artists
• Their lives are the canvas
• Decisions are brushstrokes
• Identity sets the palette
Participants are not lectured to, they create, reflect, and build together.
The complete system includes:
• Student Book: 7 Chapters, 7 Lessons, 7 Deliverables
• Student Workbook: Developing Character & Developing Careers
• Personal Journal: Clarifying thoughts through written words
• Teacher/Parent/Mentor Manual: Full instructions for teaching and implementation
Everything is designed to work together as a single system.
The Get PAIDTM System evolved over 30+ years and was redesigned for each generation:
• Generation X: My Life – My Choice
• Generation Y: There Is an Art to Living
• Generation Z: YOU (Your Own Universe)
• 2024 and Beyond: Get PAIDTM (Pay Attention - Identify Daily )
The principles are timeless.
Absolutely. Parents are encouraged to learn the system themselves, use the shared language at home, and teach it to their own teens, and even their teens’ friends. The Painters’ Lab serves as the entry point, while the Get PAID™ System is designed for ongoing use through repeated cycles and long-term integration in classrooms, homes, and mentoring programs. Together, it strengthens communication between adults and youth over time.
